It looks like you have a bad copy locally or something. I would suggest
deleting whatever you have in /usr/portage/distfiles and starting it over after
a fresh emerge sync.
Comment 3 Michael E. Adams 2005-10-11 16:16:45 UTC
Still fails. I got exactly the same results.
Comment 4 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-11 16:29:25 UTC
...and if you download it from http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/linux/doom3.png ?
Comment 5 Michael E. Adams 2005-10-11 17:09:38 UTC
The md5sum does not agree between the file that was emerged and the one I got
from ID.

emerged doom3.png was:

 md5sum doom3.png
b7be17eec8c4acb03b0f4435f25eb8ac doom3.png

downloaded ID doom3.png was:

 md5sum doom3.png
f99eb141eecc4b9dd188d6819d741546 doom3.png
Comment 6 Michael E. Adams 2005-10-11 17:37:32 UTC
I overwrote the emerged doom3.png with the one I downloaded from ID. The
installation (emerge) continued correctly and finished the installation. Game is
up and running. So, it appears something is wrong with the doom3.png in the
Gentoo emerge.

Regards.
Mike
Comment 7 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-12 05:31:33 UTC
$ cp ~/doom3.png /space/distfiles-local

I have updated the version on the mirrors with a freshly-downloaded copy form
Id. It should take somewhere between 1 and 8 hours to propogate to all of the
mirrors.
