This is being reported to the kernel developers, but Selecting IO APIC in the
kernel causes some laptops (namely mine -- Dell Latititude C610) to lock hard
after a proper boot.

In particular, this appears to be selected in the ISO kernel, which keeps some
laptop users (namely me) from using it to install Gentoo.
