* This happend today when I emerged portage -r2 and tried to update to -r3

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Emerge portage 2.0.51.22-r2
2.Try to emerge to 2.0.51.22-r3
3. Should error

Actual Results:  
>>> Done.
>>> extracting info
>>> extracting p7zip-4.20
Segmentation fault


Expected Results:  
<things in make>
Segmentation fault

remove buildpkg from FEATURES and see if you can emerge p7zip

if you can, try re-emerging bzip2 and tar with CFLAGS='-pipe'

i highly doubt this has anything to do with portage

my guess is your combo of using -march with -Os made your box unstable

Bleh, bug wranglers won't really solve this. Please, mark WORKSFORME/INVALID or
debug this with the reporter.
