Description Andrew Cowie 2005-10-04 20:12:34 UTC
We have just released a new version of java-gnome, in particular libgtk-java
2.8.0 but the rest of the libraries in the series as well. See
http://java-gnome.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/bin/view/Main/NewsTwoTwelveZero for
release notes.

I have created new ebuilds for the java-gnome libraries, adding new ebuilds for
the two new libraries, glib-java and cairo-java, and updating the ebuilds of
libgtk-java, libgnome-java, libglade-java, and libgconf-java. I also updated my
java-gnome meta ebuild to take into account the new dependencies.

As usual, I have prepared a tarball of these ebuilds or you can browse them
directly; see http://research.operationaldynamics.com/linux/gentoo/#java-gnome .
The ebuilds are modifications from in portage as of a couple days ago, so the
deltas should be straight forward. A tarball is at
http://research.operationaldynamics.com/linux/gentoo/java-gnome-2.12.0_ebuilds.tar.gz
with an md5sum of d810013d421fafb389b8d89179c5bcdd.

Incidentally, I would have used experimental svn to post these, but it was down
today. So fallback to tarball it is.

The current ebuilds for libgnome-java always builds and installs javadocs.
Ideally, this should be dependent on the doc USE flag. I'd venture a guess that
the other java-gnome packages do the same.

I just released java-gnome 2.12.1 (see
http://research.operationaldynamics.com/blogs/andrew/software/java-gnome/java-gnome-2.12.1-release.html
blog entry)

I have accordingly updated the java-gnome ebuilds I maintain for 2.12.1 . New
tarball now at
http://research.operationaldynamics.com/linux/gentoo/java-gnome-2.12.1_ebuilds.tar.gz
, md5sum 90b8c26b1b7248ddd192da7fc6de9e55.

Minor update to that tarball, fixing some dependencies. New md5sum
62fee1a6bd3c2c15f068f69fac099f3b

As for the request at #1, that shouldn't be too hard. Many of the packages have
a --without-javadocs configure flag now, though I'll have to check glib-java and
cairo-java.

Thanks for providing these ebuilds. I've added them to the experimental overlay.
Note: glib-java and cairo-java weren't in the tarball, but I was able to get
them off your site.
Comment 5 Andrew Cowie 2005-10-25 21:42:46 UTC
Oops. Thanks for that Josh.

I updated the tarball to include the glib-java and cairo-java ebuilds. md5sum
now 05fdc7b5060539d8ccd079b33348b50b - though this will obviously be deprecated
once you get a chance to move them into Portage proper, I tend to keep them
posted for reference.

These packages are in portage with p.mask.
