could you try to recompile dclib-0.3.5?
The bug has been resolved, there were librarys left over from a manual compile of a different version of dclib in /usr/local that appear to be confusing the valknut ebuild. By deleating everything concerning dclib and reemerging valknut the build was successful. Maybe the valknut build script needs to have absolute paths to these dclib dependancys?
well - you shouldn't compile anything manualy and you can't expect us to support if if you do... anyway - i'm glad it works;>
