Description Paweł Mielechowicz 2005-10-04 07:20:22 UTC
With xorg-server-0.99.1-r9 everything works fine for me.
With xorg-server-0.99.1-r10 I get hard crash when I run glxgears or any game
after few seconds.

- I have Radeon8500LE
- I use DRI
- I have gentoo ~86
- I use modularize xorg

Problem is with "fix-transparencies.patch" in xorg-server-0.99.1-r10.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge xorg-server-0.99.1-r10
2.glxgears
3.wait few seconds

Interesting..the results of this patch shouldn't be that drastic. Post your
'emerge info' and attach xorg.conf please.

Which games cause this specifically? I haven't been able to reproduce with
crack-attack. I do have different hardware of course...

What version of cube? I'll test here.

I can't reproduce this at all. Do you have another machine you can ssh in with
after the apparent crash?
Comment 8 Joshua Baergen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-05 19:07:00 UTC
Sorry, I completely forgot to check/add:

I'm using the i810 driver, which may mean the radeon driver is the culprit,
especially since it has had a large number of changes made to it. Personally I
would move this upstream only if the problem persists after the rc1 release
(hopefully soon), especially if you can just omit the patch for the time being...
Comment 9 Paweł Mielechowicz 2005-10-06 14:45:57 UTC
I don't have another machine :(
I will wait for next release.
I will omit the patch for the time being.
Comment 10 Joshua Baergen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-06 16:56:21 UTC
Thank you.

Please re-open this bug if the problem persists in rc1.
