this package would not emerge properly possibly because of my workstations settings, and possibly because the sources were corrupted. I manually compiled there sources by adding "using namespace std;" to files that were using <string> and <iostream>, to get them to compile properly.
Could you give me some more information? Did you get an error while installation, did emerge complain about wrong md5-sums (which would be an corruption of the sources)? What arch and what processor are you running? Are you using gcc2 or gcc3? What error did you get exactly?
From ma53@drexel.edu (michael): Sorry to not have included any information like that Im new to bugzilla. Im running the gcc 3.2 on a Pentium III so thats (i686 arch i think). I didnt get any checksum errors in fact someone on the gentoo forum had the exact same problem. The exact error i got was: openmosixview.h:113: `string' was not declared in this scope .. openmosixview.cpp:2680: `system' cannot be used as a function {standard input}: Assembler messages: {standard input}:3476: Error: symbol `which' is already defined The same as another guy on the message board. Hope this helps, thanks! -MiKE
There is a new release of openmosixview: 1.3 It's in cvs and masked for testing. Please test this one and post the results.
ebuild version 1.3 works fine. thanks, MiKE
ok, so i'll close this bug.
