Please try subarch ppc64-64ul(ppc64 generic) or G5-64ul(G5 only).
If you want to make a 32bit userland, please try ppc64-32ul or G5-32ul.
Comment 4 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-01 07:46:18 UTC
ok. G5-64ul works. this should definetly be documentated somewhere! I'll try to
find the right place(s) and try to provide patches.

nigoro: you are wellcome to help me ;-)

I'm sorry... did you say document? You're a funny guy... :P

We definitely support patches, though... heh... in fact, the first few versions
of catalyst 2.0 (pre) should be hitting a super sekrit dev-only space soon... so
look out for it and suggest patches, as we'd like to fix it up as nice as
possible before unleashing it on the world...
Comment 6 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-20 09:25:39 UTC
Umm... the only valid subarches are ppc64 for ppc64. You set the userland based on your profile. The hacks that were in catalyst 1.x have been removed because they were ludicrous. Anyway, stage building should be fixed in catalyst 2.0, which is no longer in package.mask, so feel free to REOPEN if there are still issues.
