Description Thomas Fischer 2005-09-30 22:39:52 UTC
There is a bug in KBibTeX which prevents the program from saving @string
elements and thus destroys the file. Patch will be supplied.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a .bib file containing @string elements
2. Save file with a new name
3. Diff both files

I willl take a look at this soon, but would also ask you to submit this patch
upstream. My BibTeX files don't use this feature and so it didn't come up for
me (or at least it doesn't seem to have).

Did you submit this patch upstream yet? I have tested and applied the patch, but
it should also be sent upstream to benefit other users of this application. Thanks.
Comment 4 Thomas Fischer 2005-10-10 04:12:45 UTC
Actually, I am upstream myself. Due to some delays I was not able to finish my
work on KBibTeX 0.1.3 yet, so I am releasing officially KBibTeX 0.1.2a
containing only the string writing patch. Therefore, reusing the current ebuild
file should work without problems.

Sorry for the confusion - I didn't realise. I just emailed you actually too. I
just like to make sure that patches like this are reported upstream and hadn't
spotted that you were in fact upstream. Let me know when 0.13 is out and I
will bump it. Thanks.
