Description Alexander Weber 2005-09-30 05:53:19 UTC
I've just seen a nice webmail/cal tool called zimbra (see
http://www.zimbra.com). Look quite nice and usable.

Would be great if there would be an ebuild :-)

There are binaries for RedHat/Feudora and the source code (the Makefile tries to
produce a rpm-file)

Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:

I second to that.... zimbra seems to be going to rock...
if we get it the current beta on portage (masked), it should make easier to
quickly release a stable ebuild after zimbra goes out of beta..
Comment 2 Frank 2005-10-11 07:07:50 UTC
Folks have reported sucess on Gentoo, YMMV, on the Zimbra forum.
Zimbra also says they make things more modular in next release, allowing you ro
use components already in place (eg postfix, amavisd, mysql).
If that happens it'll be easier to make ebuilds.

But first i think we need to hear the details of people who have gotten the
thing to work...

I'll add my own, "me too" to this request.

I just created an ebuild and 2 Minutes later I got the newsletter where it says
that next week the next beta will be released... Then the ebuild for the current
version wouldn't be need, I think

So, as this is the only place in bugzilla for Zimbra,
any progress?

I have to start from scratch or there is something to look at?
Comment 6 Aaron Murray 2006-02-07 12:52:41 UTC
Zimbra is out of beta now...
Comment 7 Mudrii 2006-04-03 02:47:55 UTC
do we have a ebuild ?
Comment 8 Kalin KOZHUHAROV 2006-04-03 08:56:54 UTC
Nope :-(

Nobody tried hard enough to wirte it so far. And with hte Kolab effort (see GWN20060403) it may become de facto Gentoo groupware.

/me personally is looking into group-office and there is not even a need for ebuild - just drop it into a folder and connect via browser. And it has Japanese translation already :-)

No progress here for one year, closing WONTFIX.

Feel free to reopen with an ebuild.
