poke? renaming the ebuild worked for me, and this release also seems not to have thge bug that the 3.1.19 (latest version in portage) has of crashing during configure reporting not being able to determine length of short int. you could kill two birds with one stone now by adding this to portage ;)
DEPEND dev-libs/xmlrpc-c can be removed, motion doesn't need xmlrpc anymore.
The current version is now 3.2.4. Also, as of 3.2.x xml-rpc is no longer a dependency, it should be removed from the ebuild.
3.2.4 works fine here (without xmlrpc that I removed from the ebuild), the only problem I have is with the init script: "/etc/init.d/motion stop" reports [!!], but motion is stopped (it does not appear anymore in processes). "Stopping" the script a second time reports [ok]
Created attachment 79581 [details] 3.2.4 bump and small fixes over 3.2.3 ebuild Some whitespace tweaks over 3.2.3 and don't mv motion-dist.conf to motion.conf, but rather cp it so that the dist version remains for future reference. Also rename to use the motion.init in /files rather than the motion.init-Gentoo
Created attachment 79582 [details] Renamed init file to be stored in /files Also, minor indent fixes.
The 3.1.9 is marked ~amd64, ~ppc, ~sparc and ~x86. The 3.2.4 is marked for ~x86 only. I've put the 3.2.4 ebuild in my /usr/local/portage overlay and added the keyword ~amd64. It compiled fine. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet and may not be able to get to it for a few days. Does anyone else have any idea how well it works under amd64?
I tested the motion-3.2.4 ebuild with no problems on amd64 architecture. Great work. Thank you.
Just to make you know tha 3.2.6 is out... the 3.2.4 ebuild is ok if renamed to the new version
motion 3.2.6 installed with this ebuild on amd64 architecture with no problems. It works flawlessly. Thanks.
