Description jeremy 2002-11-15 03:26:09 UTC
In the Gentoo linux ppc install doc, it states
----------
<*> Sound card support
<*>   PowerMac DMA sound support
// and
<*>   OSS sound modules
--------

But, on my ibook2 with bot powermac dma AND oss compiled in statically (or as
modules and loaded) all that came out of the system was static.

sound will work quite well if _just_ the powermac dma is compiled as a module
and modprobe'd.

on my Powerbook/Pismo, either way produces just static, although with another
additional condition: i2c-core module should be compiled and modprobed -
otherwise dmasound_pmac module doesn't load (unresolved ref links).

fixed in cvs.
