Here the package media-video/xanim-export 2.80.1-r3 doesn't compile. I use 
CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe". It fails somewhere in xa_x11.c. I'll 
attach an output of the emerge run.

This exact bug happens to me with xanim-2.80.1-r4.  xa_x11.c.  I'm using an athlon-xp 
but use -Os as my optimise setting.

I am able to compile this particular package if I do NOT have -finline-functions in my 
/etc/make.conf CFLAGS settings.  This is, I think, set by -O3.  I set this even though I 
was using -Os.

Thanks, the ebuild now strips -finline-functions and replaces -O3 with -O2 :)

reopen if this is still broken for any one :)
