Description Edward Muller 2002-03-11 13:58:01 UTC
When I run the apmd init script I get the following:

* Starting apmd...
An apmd is already running as process XXXX:
If it is no longer running, remove /var/run/apmd.pid

removing the pid file and re-running apmd start gives the same error, with a
different pid.

It looks like apmd is starting, but dying (or something).

ps-ax | grep apm doesn't show anything (other than kapm-idled)

running /usr/sbin/apmd manually starts apmd however

fixed.
