Description Harald van Dijk (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-09-24 05:10:21 UTC
Whenever I start elinks, these messages show up:

/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:512: unknown option
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:512: parse error
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:516: unknown option
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:516: parse error
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:520: unknown option
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:520: parse error
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:524: unknown option
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:524: parse error

I have not modified my global elinks.conf. The lines causing this message are

      ## protocol.ftp.proxy.host <str>
      # Host and port-number (host:port) of the FTP proxy, or blank.
      # If it's blank, FTP_PROXY environment variable is checked as well.
      set protocol.ftp.proxy.host = ""

    ## protocol.ftp.anon_passwd <str>
    # FTP anonymous password to be sent.
    set protocol.ftp.anon_passwd = "elinksUSER@gentoo.org"

    ## protocol.ftp.use_pasv [0|1]
    # Use PASV instead of PORT (passive vs active mode, IPv4 only).
    set protocol.ftp.use_pasv = 1

    ## protocol.ftp.use_epsv [0|1]
    # Use EPSV instead of EPRT (passive vs active mode, IPv6 only).
    set protocol.ftp.use_epsv = 0

Which makes sense because I installed elinks with USE=-ftp:

[ebuild R ] www-client/elinks-0.10.5-r1 -X +bzip2 -debug -finger -ftp -gnutls
-gopher -gpm -guile +idn +ipv6 -javascript +lua +nls +nntp -perl -ruby -samba
+ssl +zlib

The warnings are harmless - elinks runs just fine - but ugly.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. USE=-ftp emerge elinks
2. elinks
Actual Results:
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:512: unknown option
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:512: parse error
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:516: unknown option
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:516: parse error
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:520: unknown option
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:520: parse error
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:524: unknown option
/etc/elinks/elinks.conf:524: parse error
Then start normally

Expected Results:
Start normally without warnings
