Description Albert Hopkins (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-09-23 10:57:00 UTC
Is this thing actually supposed to work? I have not been able to play any music
files whether they are mpg or ogg. The moment I get a file dialog and click
"Open" bmpx crashes. Both versions in portage act the same. This is on AMD64.
 I have a 16MB core dump if anyone's interested.

Yes, it works fine here. Yes, it is still early in development, and a few
features is missing - which is why its still package.mask'd. Yes, you should try
to provide some more details. What i want, is:

1) Versions of following installed:

  dev-libs/glib
  x11-libs/gtk+
  gnome-base/libglade
  x11-libs/pango
  dev-libs/libxml2
  x11-libs/cairo
  media-libs/taglib
  sys-apps/dbus
  media-libs/xine-lib
virtual/fam (either fam or gamin, and if fam, is the daemon running)

2) Remerge with: CFLAGS=-ggdb FEATURES="nostrip debug" USE=debug emerge bmpx
And provide a gdb backtrace.

No feedback.
Comment 4 Albert Hopkins (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-04 07:58:25 UTC
My apologies. Subsequent versions seemed to play audio files on my system. So
I guess it works now (though I can honestly say that I am no longer interested
in the software :-|)
