When I load the livecd, the kernel appears to load normally until I get to the lines: ISO 9660 Extensions: Microsoft Joliet Level 1 ISOFS: changing to secondary root These two lines just repeat endlessly. (By endlessly I mean around 10 minutes which I took as enough time to realize something was wrong) Background: I'm running on a Dell Dimension 4400 with a P4 and 256MB RAM. I downloaded the iso "livecd-basic-1.4_rc1-r2.iso" using both IE6 and WS_FTP on Windows XP, then I burned it using Easy CD Creator 5 and also Nero. Both times I have the same error. This is, of course, a fatal error. One more note: I tried the CD on another computer and it worked.
I tried to use my install CD again a few weeks ago, and, this time, it worked. The kernel loaded correctly and I was able to install Gentoo without any problems. Why it did this I do not know. Perhaps there was a problem reading the CD. Thanks for the attention and great distribution! Scott Ellington
Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux". I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers, this is the only reasonable way to do this.
