games-kids/gcompris-7.0.1 version bump
Release 7.0.3 is out
Created attachment 71737 [details] gcompris-7.0.3.ebuild Here's an ebuild for gcompris-7.0.3. Doesn't seem to like python-2.4 though so I'm not adding it to portage. There is also an issue with xrandr + gnome that causes the gnome panel to resize/move itself - also pretty annoying. Enough reason to wait for the next release of gcompris for adding to portage.
7.1 is in portage. No python love still.
A couple of weeks ago I installed 7.0.1 for my kids, but I was bad and didn't report the fix to the sdl problem. 7.0.1 requires dev-python/pygtk-2.6.2. This fixed the sdl error and everything worked. Just as I was going to submit this information, I noticed 7.1 was in portage. Unfortunately, it has a new crop of problems. I enabled python support in the ebuild (calling it 7.1-r1) and the configure script complained about not finding gnome.canvas. This is because module gnome.canvas is deprecated; Python wants gnomecanvas instead. As a temporary work around, I added --enable-py-build-only to the econf string to disable module testing. Python now works fine. --enable-py-build-only is only a temporary solution. Whatever calls gnome.canvas should be patched to call gnomecanvas. Thinking back a step, the configure script also complained about gnome-python missing. I added it as a python dependency. Gcompris also should have pyxml as a dependency. The following error is generated without it: You need the python xml module. Disabling SVG. Python xml module not found. SVG is disabled. Install the python xml module to enable SVG Save/restore. Last, but not least, looking through the configure script, I noticed cairo support has been added. I tried it and received the following error: In file included from gcompris.c:29: gcompris.h:58:28: gcompris-cairo.h: No such file or directory It does say that cairo support is experimental... It's Thanksgiving today, so while I did have some time this morning to work on this, my time is up. I'll upload the 7.1-r1 ebuild tonight if I get the chance and work on the gnome.canvas patch over the next week or so.
