I read another bug report regarding name changes and such so I've created a new

ebuild that had a post-message that says this is mostly development....

I don't think that postinst message is necessary.  Unless there are particular
changes to the ebuilds, btw, you can just give me an e-mail or /msg on irc to
remind me to bump it, cuz I don't even bother downloading ebuilds from here,
just modify, copy and commit ;-)
