Description Steve 2005-09-18 21:10:24 UTC
I have the xmms-scrobbler plugin installed and on certain files I get a crash.
So far I have two scenarios.

First.
2005-09-18 23:21:13 [tags/tags.c] tag_exists: Found ID3v1 tag...
2005-09-18 23:21:13 [tags/tags.c] tag_exists: Found Vorbis comment block...
2005-09-18 23:21:14 [tags/tags.c] fetchID3v1: Getting ID3v1 tag metadata...
2005-09-18 23:21:14 [tags/id3v1.c] readID3v1: Searching for tag...
2005-09-18 23:21:14 [tags/tags.c] fetchVorbis: Getting Vorbis comment metadata...
2005-09-18 23:21:14 [tags/vorbis.c] readVorbis: Searching for tag...

Segmentation fault

The second:

2005-09-18 22:27:09 [tags/tags.c] tag_exists: Found ID3v1 tag...
2005-09-18 22:27:09 [tags/tags.c] tag_exists: Found ID3v2 tag...
2005-09-18 22:27:09 [tags/tags.c] fetchID3v1: Getting ID3v1 tag metadata...
2005-09-18 22:27:09 [tags/id3v1.c] readID3v1: Searching for tag...
2005-09-18 22:27:09 [tags/tags.c] fetchID3v2: Getting ID3v2 tag metadata...
2005-09-18 22:27:09 [tags/id3v2.c] readID3v2: Searching for tag...
2005-09-18 22:27:09 [tags/id3v2.c] readID3v2: Found ID3v2 tag...
2005-09-18 22:27:09 [tags/id3v2.c] read_header: Version: ID3v2.3

Segmentation fault

You've probably found a bug in XMMS, please visit
http://bugs.xmms.org and fill out a bug report.

Xlib: unexpected async reply (sequence 0x21a7a5)!

Segmentation fault

Both happen as the audioscrobbler collects the data and is about to send it off.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Listen to music.
2. Get to some files ( oggs and some mp3s ).
3. xmms crashes.

Actual Results:
Segmentation fault.

Expected Results:
Continued playing.

Can you add a backtrace of xmms and tell me which version are you using? Please
try with another versions.
Comment 2 Thomas Cort (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-04 06:18:08 UTC
Any news on this? Does it still crash reading tags? What version of the xmms-scrobbler plugin are you using? Are there international characters in the tags?
Comment 3 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-26 12:59:30 UTC
Please provide a meaningful backtrace (see http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml ) and reopen.
