Description Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-11-12 16:14:46 UTC
Hi,

There are 2 issues that I would like to clarify about the Eterm ebuilds:

1. --disable-mmx is used as a myconf flag because it is "alleged" there are
problems with binutils 2.11. I'm using binutils 2.13.90.0.10, and there doesn't
seem to be any problems. can someone check whether the comment in the ebuild is
still valid (since binutils 2.11* are now masked.)

2. with regards to backspace and delete key handling, i'm having problems with
Eterm with those keys in console apps such as jed and less if the following is
not set:

--with-backspace=auto
--with-delete=server

without those, the backspace key maps to ^H and doesn't get recognised by a
whole host of console apps. I'd like to know if there is anyone who experiences
problems with those configure options set.

Thanks,

Alastair

check out -r2 ... i fixed that backspace thing last nite cause it was pissing
me off while trying to use some apps ;)

as for disable-mmx, i release a -r3 that has it enabled

binutils 2.11 are masked on gcc3.x systems while 2.13 are masked on gcc2.x
systems

thanks for getting back to me so quick!

yep, i seem -r2 now with the backspace fix. as with the mmx tag, maybe we can
mask -r3 from the 1.0 profile? ;)

cheers,

Alastair
