When I tried merge this: [ebuild R ] app-admin/webmin-1.210-r1 +apache2 +pam -postgres +ssl -webmin-minimal 1. it needs Authen-PAM to run which is not in RDEPEND 2. remerging with config protect turned on does not substitute root password in new config file, but the old /etc/webmin/miniserv.users 3. wrong path gets into /etc/webmin/miniserv.conf: --- CUT --- ... root=/tmp/portage/webmin-1.210-r1/image/usr/libexec/webmin mimetypes=/tmp/portage/webmin-1.210-r1/image/usr/libexec/webmin/mime.types ... --- CUT --- after deleting manually these "/tmp/portage/webmin-1.210-r1/image" all works o.k I saw that the latest ebuild does not resolve these issues... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. (issue 1,2,3) emerge webmin 2. (issue 2 ) emerge webmin 3. Actual Results: as described in details issue 3 - webmin is not operational until manual corrections of config files Expected Results: . Re: 1... see the open bug whereby auth-pam causes webmin to segfault. Re: 2... that's why you shouldn't automerge Re: 3... thanks, I'll look at why that's not getting stripped out...
It's working fine for me... what version are you using? This should be catching it: find ${D}/etc/webmin -type f | xargs sed -i -e "s:${D}:${ROOT}:g"
ok... my fault, i found the reason i have symbolic link from /var/tmp to /tmp and then D=/tmp/blahblah instead of /var/tmp/blahblah do you know how to workaround this?
mistake... :) D=/var/tmp/blahblah instead of /tmp/blahblah
ok... i think i will set PORTAGE_TMPDIR=/tmp in my make.conf and i won't have similar problems in the future thank you for your assist
