The emerge process was correct. But when I finish the vmware-config.pl process, I get "failed" message when the scripts try to wake up the services. So I try to run vmware-config.pl again and I get this error message: app-emulation/vmware-workstation-5.0.0.13124-r2 It happens to me with two different computers, both in ~x86. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

Sorry, it was not a problem of VMware or the Gentoo ebuild. The problem was in my kernel configuration. CONFIG_MODULES and CONFIG_MODULE_UNLOAD has to be enabled in the host kernel. Maybe it would be a good idea to add a pkg_postinst() message for this thing, don't you think so?
