Both ntp and openntpd provide /usr/sbin/ntpd. That is not good, and both should block each other. But as they don't, I am fileing this bug.
ntp already does block openntpd if you dont emerge with USE=openntp
Sure, redefine ~ # USE="-openntp" emerge -p ntp openntpd These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies ...done! [ebuild R ] net-misc/ntp-4.2.0.20050303-r1 [ebuild N ] net-misc/openntpd-3.7_p1 I dunno, seems like its not being blocked to me :P
it's a one way blocker remove ntp, install openntp, and then try to emerge ntp w/USE=-openntp
portage team: does one-way blockers no longer work ? they used to ...
fixed in cvs
