There's a new version of rep-gtk out, and we care about this because it's a dependency of the new (and apparently functional) version of sawfish. Changes that need to be made in the ebuild: - Bump version - SRC_URI="mirror://sourceforge/${PN}/$P}.tar.gz" - Change homepage to http://rep-gtk.sourceforge.net/ - Change librep dependency to ">=dev-libs/librep-0.13" librep dependency is per configure, but 0.16.1 is in portage, so whatever.
Created attachment 5600 [details] rep-gtk-0.17.ebuild (update)
here it goes, compiles fine, sawfish 1.2 works :) regards, artb.

isn't --host=${CHOST} deprecated? The gnome deps are wrong as well, since this means the package will break as gnome 2.1 becomes unmasked.
[spider] > isn't --host=${CHOST} deprecated? i'm not sure, i used 2.0 ebuild as a base. > The gnome deps are wrong as well, since this means the package will > break as gnome 2.1 becomes unmasked. as far as i know, sawfish 1.2 is not ready for gnome 2.1. so you're probably right - there should be some "<=" deps. i'll try to fix it tonight.
Sawfish 1.2 builds and runs with gnome 2.1.2... at least on x86
I believe that this *shouldn't* break on an upgrade from 2.0 to 2.1 (or 2.2), although it doesn't seem like a fun few hours of compiling to find out for certain. The only upgrade/downgrade problems I've seen are with pango libraries, and that could be solved by putting the newer pango versions in a separate slot as I had done in my (not in portage) Gnome-2.1.1 ebuilds. rep-gtk and sawfish do build fine with either 2.0 or 2.1, though, and both this and Sawfish 1.2 are considered part of Gnome 2.1.2 (or at least they mention them in the release notes) Finally, I don't know about the CHOST line, either.
Stealing this from you, seemant. I added rep-gtk some days ago (had to bump, cause sawfish-1.2 depends on it). Does it work on your boxes?
I didn't have a problem with gnome2.1. Will close this bug now. -phoen][x- (Yay, down to 35 open bugs again ;))
