execute it with -p0 in the frontend directory
Comment 3 Bjoern Thorwirth 2007-04-22 17:24:27 UTC
that would be really fine ..tryed to create an ebuild by myself already .. but the howto is far to old. Created an patch for /frontend/Makefile ..
but the modules aren't build correct.

Please help me

Ok. .I got it running, and it works quite fine. I'll try to create an ebuild .. if someone wants to contribute me he e.g. with an init script he is for sure welcome.

Patches for frontend/daemon/module/common Makefile

Fixes install destinations for the files, alters the main makefile to first compile, than install, includes former patches for kernel modules and qt-path patches for gentoo

We still need an init script for the daemon

and sorry, .. attached the patches as tar.gz
Comment 7 Bjoern Thorwirth 2007-04-23 23:30:27 UTC
the makefilepatch isen't sufficient at the Moement, but i'm working on making it portage compatible. in the meantime i 've written an init script. so the ebuild will be ready for review soon.

I was trying to check tuxguardian using ebuild from sunrise overlay. What i found out is that ebuild is checking for: SECURITY_CAPABILITIES in kernel. However I can not see this option in any kernel (checked gentoo-sources and tuxonice) above 2.6.26. The ebuild is therefor "crashing" if i try to install it on newer kernels.

On http://tuxguardian.sourceforge.net/ it says that one should enable:
ENABLE DIFFERENT SECURITY MODELS
SOCKET AND NETWORKING SECURITY HOOKS
These are both available in newer sources.
you can then try editing the ebuild and remove the check.
For me it did not compile even then. (I use gentoo-sources-2.6.29-r3 on amd64)

Given that nobody seems to have worked on tuxguardian since april 2006 this is maybe not too surprising. I doubt that it makes sense to use an experimental firewall when the project seems to be dead.

I agree just want to report the problem with ebuild. As project seems to be dead and ebuid is no longer usable (with newer kernel without editing) the best way is to forget about it. Maybe it should be removed from the overlay but it's not a realy big problem.

Qt3 app

Closing as wont be fixed since we dont add qt3 apps any more

If you still want to use this please consider moving it to kde-sunset overlay
