while trying to emergr chmlib 0.35 I ran into the following problem

appending configuration tag "F77" to libtool
checking for ld used by gcc... (cached) /usr/bin/ld
checking if the linker (/usr/bin/ld) is GNU ld... (cached) no
configure: creating ./config.status
