That release isn't beep-media-player but BMPx; it's planned successor. Only
actual released software is packaged in the tree; not software that is still in
heavy development and changes every few days. BMPx does not have all the
features that BMP has; it is not stable yet. Messages like these are a good
pointer "LAST MINUTE UPDATE:
A last minute bug was fixed, please download 0.10-1 instead if you downloaded
0.10! "

The latest BMP is 0.9.7; I am still awaiting 0.9.7.1
