It's not reproducible here, please cofirm that: - it's always reproducible - you compiled with "extraengine" use flag the emerge directory is still there you should be able to: # cd /var/tmp/portage/mysql-4.1.14/work/mysql/mysql-test/ # ./mysql-test-run archive once done this the stuff in ./var/log/* could be useful to diagnostic the problem.
I reemerged it with extraengines and this is the new error: bdb-alter-table-1 [ fail ] Errors are (from /var/tmp/portage/mysql-4.1.14/work/mysql/mysql-test/var/log/mysqltest-time) : This test is not supported by this installation mysqltest returned unexpected code 15872, it has probably crashed (the last lines may be the most important ones) Aborting: bdb-alter-table-1 failed. to c#2 , "archive" is the test for an alternative storage engine, the defaults storage engines builded by the ebuild are "myisam" and "innodb". Optionals are "bdb" builded with 'berkdb' USE flag and "archive", "csv", "federated", "blackhole" builded with 'extraengine' USE flag. I've asked if you compiled with 'extraengine' because that test can be run *only* if the "archive" storage engine is compiled in, if it's not as obvious the test fail. ==> I'll disable it from the ebuild and bug upstream (or do it yourself if you like). The error code returned from the berkdb make me think that the problem is the same, the test suite is trying to test the "bdb" storage engine but it's not compiled in. So this time I'm asking if you emerged with "berkdb" use flag.
Thanks for the information. These are the use flags: localhost ~ # emerge -vp mysql These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies ...done! [ebuild R ] dev-db/mysql-4.1.14 -berkdb -big-tables -cluster -debug -doc -extraengine -geometry -minimal -perl +readline (-selinux) +ssl -static -tcpd +utf8 0 kB
ebuilds - mysql-4.1.13-r1 - mysql-4.1.14 - mysql-5.0.12_beta Now include a workaround for this, it should be avaiable in few hours to an emerge sync. Please test one and report. Thanks
I had the same. Setting -berkdb -extraengine helped, but it didn't stop there. Eventually it failed at csv. I opened make.conf, and put -csv as a flag there. Didn't help.. csv [ fail ] Errors are (from /var/tmp/portage/mysql-4.1.14/work/mysql/mysql-test/var/log/mysqltest-time) : This test is not supported by this installation mysqltest returned unexpected code 15872, it has probably crashed (the last lines may be the most important ones) Aborting: csv failed. In reply to #c6 No as said in #c3 "csv" is included in the extraengines, it's simply my fault, forgot it. Also "csv" thes must be disabled when USE="-extraengine". In cvs, changes well be avaiable in few hours.
seem ok now, closing
