Description Javier Marcet 2002-11-10 12:16:02 UTC
Take this as a bonus.
I've had it for a couple weeks sitting on my HD.
It definitely needs testing and peer review.
It still uses the old AdvanceMame's vonfigure script, hence nice additions like good
detection of sdl & svgalib are not there yet.
Anyway, I'm not abolutely sure about the requirements. I based them on previos
AdvanceMame version, just that.

Comment 2 Javier Marcet 2002-11-11 02:42:33 UTC
Sorry, the name should be advancemenu-2.1.2.ebuild
Comment 3 Martin Schlemmer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-11-19 14:09:26 UTC
You did see that we already have a ebuild that is a combination of advancemame
and advancemenu ?

advancemame-0.62.0.ebuild

I'm still compiling, hence I don't know if it works without problems.

advancemenu-2.2.0.ebuild

Place under app-emulation
Comment 6 Javier Marcet 2002-11-20 02:35:25 UTC
Martin,
I was about to mix advance mame and menu ebuilds into one, but advancemenu
does not require advancemenu, and it also works with advancemess, RAINE and
other emaulators.

I've just attached the new ebuild for yesterday's released version.
It's been tested to work at least under X with sdl.
I'm on a 2.5 kernel ATM, hence I am not sure if there's any problem with SVGALib.
Anyhow, it compiles and installs fine, thus any problem beyond that is probably
Andrea Mazzolen's business.

Feel free to comment on what you think about the split.
Comment 7 Martin Schlemmer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-11-20 05:10:27 UTC
True, but its more to maintain. If rphillips wants to do this, fine, but
it do not look as if it is much maintained except by the one or so fixes.

rphillips: Just pass all bugs for advmame to me if you do not get to it.
Comment 8 Martin Schlemmer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-11-20 05:12:20 UTC
advancemame-0.62.0 commited.
Comment 9 Javier Marcet 2002-11-20 05:28:07 UTC
For me it's ok, it's just that if we add support for any other of those emulators
this ebuild might be useful for them too.
Anyway, its main use will be with advmame, so I really don't mind.
