All mod_php5 ebuilds appear to have been removed:

arachnid@calculon portage $ ls /usr/portage/dev-php/mod_php
ChangeLog  files         mod_php-4.3.11.ebuild    mod_php-4.4.0.ebuild
Manifest   metadata.xml  mod_php-4.4.0-r1.ebuild

This is listed in the changelog as:

  04 Sep 2005; Stuart Herbert <stuart@gentoo.org> -mod_php-5.0.4.ebuild,
  -mod_php-5.1.0_beta-r2.ebuild:
  Removed obsolete version

To the best of my knowledge, mod_php-5 is not obsolete, however!
