Description Stephane Bosman 2005-09-08 01:05:30 UTC
Kernel 2.6.11r11 and 2.6.9r11. Set up as NFS server. Solaris NFS client. After a while, RPC: error 5
messages appear in /var/log/messages and rpc_tasks in /proc/slabinfo starts to grow. After a few weeks,
rpc_tasks is big enough to fill the RAM and the system crashes.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start NFS server
2. Mount exported filesystems on solaris 8
3. Wait

Actual Results:
After a while, RPC: error 5 messages appear in /var/log/messages and rpc_tasks in /proc/slabinfo starts
to grow. After a few weeks, rpc_tasks is big enough to fill the RAM and the system crashes.

Expected Results:
No error 5 messages and stable number of rpc_tasks.

The mentioned kernels are not in portage any more. Reopen if you are able to
reproduce the problem w/ latest gentoo-sources/vanilla-sources.
