These ebuilds will not compile with -O3. Tested on 2 machines with same results. It leads to a segfault while compiling in the exact same spots in all 4 trials. With -O2 it will compile. I recommend you lock the ebuild to -O2 and lower.
Hi, First of all I am no developer, I just saw this bugreport more or less by accident but as I compiled arts 1.0.4 just a few hours ago myself using -O3 (plus march=pentium3 and others) and it worked fine for me I just wanted to drop you this short note...worked for me. using GCC 3.2 (3.2-r2), glibc 2.3.1-r2, alsa 0.9.0_rc5 (<- maybe try re--emerging these if you are using alsa, I had some strange effects here probably because of this)
It works for me and others with -O3. What is the compile error you're getting? Since we're talking 1.0.7, please try 1.1.0.2 which is _much_ newer (kde 3.1 rc2 vs. beta1).
Could you please try the latest KDE 3.1 RCs? Since noone but you reported these problems (and a _lot_ of people use -O3 globally), there's probably some cause local to your machine. Can you give me the output of the compile error?
Pointless since these versions are outdated and newer ones work.
