Since the .desktop file doesn't specify a category, the shortcut winds up in
Lost & Found (at least in KDE 3.4.1). Adding something like
Categories=KDE;Network makes things nicer. I'm not sure if this belongs in
Network or Utilities. I picked Network.

I agree. I added a small patch to the current ebuild, which makes knetscan show
up in the Internet menu.
