First off, hi fox2mike you get to deal with my docs again HAHAHA sucker. This document describes how to work with webapp.eclass using rt as an example. Stuart is cc'ed to provide technical insight.

Ok, there's some slight confusion on who to asssign this to, I'm going to assign to devrel (as I was told that's where there supposed to go) and cc-ing docs-team for if/when they need to look it over. Stuart remains cc'ed for technical review.
This document doesn't seem specific to bringing in a dev, rather it seems more of an explanation/howto doc. discussion is, however, open.
Final re-assignment!
Chris, This looks like a great start. Since you're using www-apps/rt as an example - note that the ebuild and the reconfig hook have recently been revised, rather extensively, so it may be a good idea to update the doc. Feel free to ping me on IRC if you want to discuss further. Renat

Attached is my stab at webapp.eclass documentation. HTML version is at http://dev.gentoo.org/~rl03/webapp.eclass.html
Created attachment 77444 [details] webapp-eclass.xml Okay, I cleaned up the XML code. Just minor stuff to make it proper GuideXML. Nice guide, by the way. Clear and to the point--good stuff. A single suggestion, if I may? You might want to change the name of the guide to webapp-eclass or webapp_eclass or similar. Can gentoo.org handle serving pages with multiple dots ('.') in as the filename? AFAIK, all other docs either use hyphens or underscores. Just a trivial thought. :)
Thanks. I'll run it by the herd and will post back once we're ready.
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/webapps/webapp-eclass.xml thank you, i'll be here all night
