The new ebuild for Totem-1.1.5 fails to emerge. The cause is that this version requires musicbrainz, and there is no depend in the ebuild. emerging musicbrainz fixed this. Also, this version has a fixed gtk-only build, that when enabled, eliminates the need for libgnomeui, gnome-desktop, and nautilus. Those deps should therefore be conditional Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 67309 [details] proposed fixed ebuild this ebuild adds musicbrainz as a dep, and makes libgnomeui, gnome-desktop, and nautilus optional. It also adds the --enable-gtk when -gnome is used which enables the gtk-only build.
it seems the firefox/mozilla plugin is not installed either
thanks nick, that fixed it for me. you might want to change the attachment type to text/plain so it's viewable w/o downloading.
musicbrainz is in the deplist for totem for me (emerge -epv totem), and it's also been added to the deplist for 1.2.0. Could you attach your ebuild as plain/text please?
this bug report is for version 1.1.5, but in the latest version in portage 1.2.0-r2 we still don't have any option to compile the GTK+ version only, wich makes a lot of sense for people who whant to use Totem, but don't want Gnome.
any chance on this????
well ever since this request I've been off and on building it with just gtk, in my opinion it is just unstable. As a matter of fact the gstreamer backend doesn't work at all in 1.4.0 and just gtk. I will keep an eye on it, but I won't add this until it's proven reliable.
