when I set PORTAGE_NICENESS = 15 or 5 at /etc/make.conf, some program compilation with emerge will abort showing this message... file.c:line: error: stray '\127' in program It doesn't happen at the same line every compilation, It has some random component. An error on dimm memory block. Memtest detects the error after five minutes. However, I can't find any reason to explain why only niced emerge was affected by ram error.
