Please post "emerge -utpD" output after doing the following:

echo "<media-libs/gst-plugins-0.8.10" >> /etc/portage/package.mask
Comment 3 Anders Hellgren gentoo-dev 2005-08-29 10:58:45 UTC
Portage-wise, this is yet another manifestation of bug 13632. Tree-wise,
gst-plugins-pango-0.8.10 needs to be marked stable on x86.
Comment 4 Henrik Brix Andersen 2005-08-30 04:41:49 UTC
Same goes for gst-plugins-faad-0.8.10 (bug #104210), gst-plugins-dvdread-0.8.10,
gst-plugins-dv-0.8.10 ... the list is long.

Adding the gstreamer and gnome herds to CC: in hope to get these issues fixed.

Here the output...

Calculating dependencies |
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "=media-libs/gst-plugins-0.8.8*" have been
masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- media-libs/gst-plugins-0.8.8 (masked by: package.mask)
- media-libs/gst-plugins-0.8.8-r2 (masked by: package.mask)

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
section 2.2 "Software Availability" in the Gentoo Handbook.
!!! (dependency required by "media-plugins/gst-plugins-pango-0.8.8-r1" [ebuild])
Comment 6 Zaheer Abbas Merali (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-08-30 15:17:01 UTC
Ok fixed now, unfortunately soemone made gst-plugins 0.8.10 stable on x86
without all the plugins made stable which is what should have happened. So I
cleaned this mess and should be sorted. Re-sync your tree and it should be fine.
Comment 7 Henrik Brix Andersen 2005-08-30 15:56:34 UTC
Thanks zaheerm :)
