Description M Cordingley 2005-08-29 08:37:56 UTC
When emerging system, the installer gives an exception, due to md5 failure on
/usr/portage/distfiles/perl-5.8.6.tar.bz2 I THINK this issue is installer specific.

Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Had firefox up reading webcomics. System is a shuttle SN45G with a Barton core
Athlon XP running windows and ubuntu as a dual boot. I added a partition
somewhat larger than two gigabytes for testing purposes (where gentoo was
installing).

This is not an installer bug. You are using the snapshot from the LiveCD which
is apparently outdated. It looks like the MD5 of the perl source tarball changed
on the mirrors. Use a newer snapshot or use sync/webrsync instead.

Moving to Release Media/Installer.
