Description Eric Bohn 2005-08-28 17:46:40 UTC
Performed stage 3 GRP install from x86 universal install CD. Followed Gentoo
2005.1 Install Handbook. After rebooting into new system, recompiled kernel
with wireless support. Could not emerge madwifi-driver. Ebuilds are present
for sharutils (madwifi-driver dependency) and madwifi-driver. However, there
is no .tar.bz2 for sharutils, and the cvs .tar.bz2 snapshot for the madwifi-
driver is for an older version of the driver than ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86"
emerge madwifi-driver expects, so the emerge fails.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

After installing the 2 appropriate .tar.bz2 files into the /usr/portage
directories they belonged in a subsequent ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge
madwifi-driver succeeded.

The files for sharutils and madwifi-driver need to be included on the install
CD.

We don't include the distfiles for *any* ~arch applications. What you are
seeing is the distfiles for hostap-driver, not madwifi.
