I've found a very nice-looking gui for speech recognition that I was disappointed to find out isn't in portage. I tried to install it myself but got the following error when trying to run it. Can't locate Tk.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.7/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.7 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.4 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.4/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.6/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.7/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.7 /usr/local/lib/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6/i686-linux .) at /usr/lib/perlbox-voice/pbox-voice line 7. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/lib/perlbox-voice/pbox-voice line 7. I couldn't find an applicable solution so I'm hoping someone who knows how perl and tk work on gentoo can write an ebuild and everything will be back to awesome.
Mass reassign from maintainer-wanted to perl-request
A stable release is coming out in December (version 1.0 see www.perlbox.org). An ebuild for it would be very nice. I will try some more to get this thing up and running and maybe if I'm real lucky I might be able to write the ebuild myself (got my fingers crossed). Anyhow, cheers.
Created attachment 78512 [details] Ebuild :-) FINALLY WORKS Got it from the Gentoo Forums, its a great software...im not sure if i renamed the ebuild correctly. enjoy!
Created attachment 78742 [details] This ebuild MIGHT work better...
few tweaks, ended up repeating a few of the tweaks in the forum post (if only i'd searched out there first ;) All set, enjoy.
