There's a problem with the i830 driver in XFree86 4.2.x, which makes it think
you only have 1 MB of video RAM.  There is a patch which fixes this problem. 
It'd be nice to have this included in the ebuild, so you don't have to do it by
hand.  The problem has been fixed in the XFree86 CVS tree, and should be
included in XFree86 4.3.0.
