Gentoo 1.4 RC1 / GCC 3.2 Epic4 ebuild version 1.0.1-r1 emerge works fine; package seems to build okay. However, upon execution, the following error is displayed. I do not know whether this is an issue for the Gentoo ebuild maintainer or the EPIC people; may be worth stepping back a version or so: ----START---- IRC-II has trapped a critical protection error. This is probably due to a bug in the program. If you have access to the 'BUG_FORM' in the ircII source distribution, we would appreciate your filling it out if you feel doing so would be helpful in finding the cause of your problem. If you do not know what the 'BUG_FORM' is or you do not have access to it, please dont worry about filling it out. You might try talking to the person who is in charge of IRC at your site and see if you can get them to help you. This version of IRC II is --->[EPIC4-1.0.1] The date of release is --->[20010417] * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The program will now terminate. Call stack Stack is corrupted [wind_index is -1], sorry. End of call stack ----END----
I compiled EPIC 4 from the current alpha tarball on the EPIC site manually, and it works fine. Hope this fact is helpful.
Give me the output of "emerge info" please. -phoen][x-

Heh, another -03 compiler. :) Check bug #10642. After that, sync and remerge epic - is the problem still there? -phoen][x-
If the newest ebuild doesn't fix it, reopen this bug please. -phoen][x-
