I cannot say when. The logfile just states

...

Fatal error: out of memory.

This can be reproduced.

Here it happens every first time the daemon is started after boot. After that it
works fine. Can you confirm this?

we havn't got 2.6.2 in portage for some time nom... i'm closing it. please - 
reopen, if you still got this problem with 2.6.4 version
