I installed courier-imap, wich depends on courier-authlib. Everything works ok, but courier-authlib always depends on db, no matter I use mysql or other use flags. I have taken a look inside the ebuild and it looks like beeing hardcoded. According to the documentation on the courier website, the use of db is optional as you can still use other methods of authentication (like /etc/passwd) even without any kind of database manager. And if you use mysql or ldap, db continues as a dependency even if it isn't going to be used. Maybe this behavior should be changed or is there a reasong for it?
