are you still having this issue? if so, have you run revdep-rebuild lately? what version of gconf and orbit are you using, have you tried re-emerging them? Are you trying to run this as a local user or remotely? Please provide your emerge info as well. Thanks
It seems that I'm no longer having this problem. I emerged gnome-python, gnome-python-extras, and then straw again and everything works now.
I'm getting the same issue. From root, I can run straw fine.
