We won't be keywording new java stuff stable for the time being, there are reasons behind this: 1- Blackdown never did 1.4.2 for sparc, and as it currently stands 1.4.1 has security bugs, and there's no clear indication when or if 1.5 will be out for us. 2- Said JVM is blocking us from upgrading the toolchain (glibc specially) since it doesn't work. 3- Said JVM is flaky under certain scenarios (SMP, sandbox). 4- (not really sparc-specific) The ant-* versions you specify are not even stable on the maintainer arch. We'll try to maintain java working as long as we can on the current profiles (2005.0/1) but we won't be supporting it looking forward unless we get a new and proper jvm from someone.
