On a freshly installed Gentoo-2005.1, I tried to emerge cmucl-19b (it is ~x86). Emerge failed with a message that the command bc was not found (bc was used for some trivial arithmetics with version numbers). After emerging bc, emerging cmucl-19b went smoothly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Ensure that sys-devel/bc is not installed 2. Add the line "dev-lisp/cmucl ~x86" to /etc/portage/packages.keywords 3. emerge cmucl Actual Results: emerge failed Expected Results: succeed
Thanks for catching this bug. I added sys-devel/bc to DEPEND for all the releases currently in portage.
