tython is a patched version of Jython 2.2a0. Maybe it's better include the patches in Jython ebuild, but at this moment I think that a standalone ebuild is the right thing to do. An ebuild will follow. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 66070 [details] tos-tython-1.1.14 ebuild derived from dev-java/jython, should be tested against incompatibility with jython.
Created attachment 77244 [details] tos-tython-1.1.15.ebuild update to version from tinyos 1.1.15, small changes.
adding java package freeze as blocker
On my queue.
for java team: any suggestion on how to andle the presence of jython and tython on the same system is well accepted :-)
Is there a problem with having both installed? Initial look at it doesn't suggest anything would provent it.
Tython and Jython seem to use the same cache dir, maybe it isn't a problem but having both running at the same time could lead to cache misses and slow down. I thought it could be possible have a use flag in jython package adding tinyos support, maintaining just one ebuild for tython and jython. As a first step I think that I can add tython, but as a second step the merge of those package could be a good thing.
