Description Sandro Bonazzola (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-08-16 05:17:34 UTC
tython is a patched version of Jython 2.2a0.
Maybe it's better include the patches in Jython ebuild, but at this moment I
think that a standalone ebuild is the right thing to do.
An ebuild will follow.

tos-tython-1.1.14 ebuild

derived from dev-java/jython, should be tested against incompatibility with
jython.

for java team: any suggestion on how to andle the presence of jython and tython on the same system is well accepted :-)

Is there a problem with having both installed? Initial look at it doesn't suggest anything would provent it.
Comment 7 Sandro Bonazzola (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-07 11:37:17 UTC
Tython and Jython seem to use the same cache dir, maybe it isn't a problem but having both running at the same time could lead to cache misses and slow down.
I thought it could be possible have a use flag in jython package adding tinyos support, maintaining just one ebuild for tython and jython. As a first step I think that I can add tython, but as a second step the merge of those package could be a good thing.
