Description matt 2005-08-14 15:39:10 UTC
when i play a file in mplayer and want to adjust a setting in the preferences
menu or try to open a differnet file two things will happen mplayer will either
just close out completely or display a series of popups.
when i use the xv video driver it will close out and if i use the x11 video
driver is displays those popups this is what they say:
--start popup info--
popup1:fatal error! mplayer interrupted by signal 11 in module:unknown
popup2:fatal error! - mplayer crashed by bad usage of CPU/FPU/RAM. recompile
mplayer with --enable-debug and make a 'gdb' backtrace and disassembly. Details
in DOCS/HTML/en/bugreport_what.html#bugreports_crash.
popup3:- mplayer crashed. this shouldn't happen.it can be a bug in the mplayer
code_or_in your drivers_or_in your gcc version. if you think it's mplayer's
fault, please read DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions
there. We can't and won't help unless you provide this information when
reporting a possible bug.
--end of popup info--
after this program closes.
if you need more info let me know ill be happy to provide it. :)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.start mplayer
2.configure the video driver to be either xv or x11
3.close mplayer
4. open a file in mplayer eg avi,wmv,mov,etc...
5. when it starts playing stop it
6. try to open the preferences menu or open a different file.
7. depending on the selected driver: mplayer will just close (xv driver) or
display those popups (x11 driver)
Actual Results:
--explained in Details section--

Expected Results:
preferences menu should open or i should be able to open a different file
